    Wood, Meade - Drummer - Warwick CO, VA 

    Warwick CO, VA Court on 9 Feb 1837 on the motion of Miles Wood certifies
    that William Wood of Warwick CO, VA enlisted in the Regt of Col Marshall as
    a Fifer and Meade Wood enlisted as a Drummer. 

    In York CO, VA on 3 Mar 1837, William Burcher, Sr, Miles L. Wood, Matthew
    Wood, John Hopkins, Rebecca Stacy, Edmund Powell and John Wood as Heirs of
    William Wood and Meade Wood state that William and Meade Wood were survived
    by a brother, John Wood. 

    Heirs of John Wood, formerly of Warwick CO, VA and surviving brother of
    William and Meade Wood, on 20 Feb 1837 in York CO, VA state that John Wood
    died leaving Children viz (1) Edward Wood who died leaving issue Elizabeth
    Wood who married Miles Wood; (2) Meade Wood who is dead leaving issue Ann
    Wood who married John Hopkins; (3) John Wood who is dead leaving issue
    Miles Wood; (4) William Wood who is dead leaving issue viz John Wood and
    Martha Wood who married Edmund Powell; (5) Elizabeth Wood who married
    William Burcher; (6) Rebecca Wood who married William Stacy and survives
    him and (7) Susan Wood who married William Lloyd. 

    Henry Buchanan, aged 75, on 29 Aug 1836 in York CO, VA states that Meade
    Wood of Warwick Co, VA and William Wood of Warwick CO enlisted under Col.
    Marshall.

    part of my report.  Thus it may be found in the D.A.R. Library

    YORK COUNRY VIRGINIA ORDERS NO. 12, 1892-1835.
    p. 278  December 16, 1833

    Ordered that it be certified from satisfactory evidence
    produced before this Court that Matthew Wood was a Fife
    Major in the Revolutionary War, died in Warwick leaving a
    last will and testament.  That the said Matthew Wood left
    at the time of his death no children, but the following 
    grand-children to wit: William Wood, Margaret Wood, who inter-
    married with Edward Moreland, Mary Ann Wood, who intermar-
    ried with William C. Durfey, which said William, Margaret,
    and Mary Ann Wood are children of William Wood, son of said
    Matthew.  Margaret Gilliam now Margaret Moss, Alexander
    Gilliam, John A. Jones, William and John Presson which said
    Margaret and Alexander Gilliam, John A. Jones, William and 
    Jno Presson are children of Nancy, a daughter of said Matthew;
    the said Nancy having been thrice married;  Mary Jones now
    Mary Wynne, daughter of Mary, another daughter of Matthew
    Wood deceased, and Felix, Matthew, William, and Richard Wood,
    sons of Matthew, another son of said Matthew Wood deceased----- 
    which said William Wood, Margaret Moreland, Mary Ann Durfey,
    Margaret Moss, Alexander Gilliam, Jno. A. Jones, William
    and Jno. Presson, Mary Wynne, Felix, Matthew, William, and
    Richard Wood are only grandchildren and heirs of Matthew Wood
    deceased, who was a Fife Major in the Revolutionary War and
    who died in the County of Warwick about 22nd of October 1824.
