3. Some genealogies on the web claim that Matthew was the son of James Hoge and Agnes Crawford.
Unless there are gross errors in the documented genealogies of descendants of James and Agnes,
the mismatch of DNA between them and the descendants of Mathew make this impossible.
4. Others claim that Matthew was the son of John Hogg, d.1795, Franklin Co. NC. This John Hogg lists
a son Matthew in his will. It seems likely that this claim is correct.

5. Most genealogies on the web have Calvin as the son of Pinkey, another son of John Hogg, d.1795,
Franklin Co. NC. We are going for now with the very plausible suggestion that Calvin was the
same man as Henry C. Hogue, son of Matthew.
6. The DNA make is clear that the descendants of William G. Hogg, b.1787, North Carolina are related to
the descendants of Matthew. we are currently working on establishing the nature of that relantionship.
